Village Community School is a co-ed independent day school serving students in K-8th Grade. The VCS Mission holds that the K-8 years are the most important in a child’s education, deserving of special care and expertise. In 2nd Grade and above, each class is taught by a specialist teacher; even the youngest students in K and 1st Grade receive Math instruction from a specialist – the start of a robust math program that ensures every student graduates from VCS prepared for Level 2 or higher in high school.

The VCS community is made whole by its diversity, and children are encouraged to share and celebrate their developing identity and lived experience. Every student is deeply known by their educational team, and teachers nurture social-emotional growth as well as academic success. By the 8th Grade year, students are well-prepared to step into a position of student leadership, actively participate in the high school placement process, and ultimately, excel at their chosen high school.
