Valley Stream Central High School Reviews
Rating 3.68 out of 5 302 reviews
Central is a great school with a lot of opportunities to learn and grow. Because most of the students excel in academics, we were recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School. There are a lot of clubs to join and you could always start your own club if you wish. The teachers are friendly and always there to support you. There are a lot of classes to choose from ranging from regents to accelerated to AP classes. The security personnel work hard and are nice to talk to. Overall, it is a welcoming environment.
Valley Stream Central High School was an overall amazing experience in the cultural and social aspects. There were a varied number of students, and we all made the high school experience a good one. In terms of academics, it was vigorous for some courses, but I thought some teachers could have been more accessible and understanding, as balancing schoolwork is a lot at times.
Overall, my experience at Central was really great and I was able to make really great friends and was given amazing opportunities, but certain aspects of the administration weren’t to the liking of me or my peers which could be subject to change with the new principal coming in, but there are still teachers there that aren’t as invested in helping their students succeed like other teachers are.
