From The Waldorf School of Philadelphia

At the Waldorf School of Philadelphia, we provide the right learning experiences at the right time. Our joyful and time-tested early childhood and elementary school curriculum mirrors children’s development. The Waldorf approach uniquely supports the growth of preschool and Kindergarten children, while creative, substantive, interdisciplinary academics engage students in Grades 1-8.

We’re a small school by design. On an expansive campus, students are immersed in experiential learning, surrounded by warm community, and challenged to become their best selves: intellectually, socially, and emotionally.

Diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) work is a wholehearted commitment at the Waldorf School of Philadelphia. As an institution and individuals, we are excited by—and making the most of—the opportunities for growth and change that we are being called to today.

Welcome to the Waldorf School of Philadelphia. Come grow with us.

It's how to think, not what to think.

    academic spotlight

Creative, critical thinking is the highest form of academic achievement. But rote learning won’t get you there. Our interdisciplinary curriculum pairs math with handwork and art, science with music and story, language arts with theater and history, allowing children to learn through a wide variety of experiences to increase depth of understanding and intersect with individual learning styles.
