    From The Rhoades School

Founded in Encinitas, California, The Rhoades School has been inspiring curious minds to think deeply and live courageously for more than 40 years. Serving students from preschool through eighth grade across three campuses, the school is focused on gifted education with a strong emphasis on social skills and emotional intelligence. It’s a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where students have a voice and a choice in their education, deciding what and how they learn. They feel safe taking risks and tackling challenges. And their teachers work together as a team, with the autonomy to create a curriculum that meets the needs of this unique, gifted population.

Remarkably confident and diverse in their achievements, our alumni/alumnae find themselves well-positioned for continued, impressive success, not only in the secondary school setting of their choosing, but also in the college environment.

    Technology-rich curriculum

    academic spotlight

Dedicated to serving high-achieving students, The Rhoades School focuses on teaching children how to think, not what to think. Students are given a technology-rich curriculum, a supportive peer group, and are guided in an encouraging manner. Our faculty engages students in a rigorous curriculum that requires them to think persistently, flexibly, and creatively, while striving for accuracy.
