    From The Orchard School

The Orchard School’s mission is to develop and educate the whole child. As a progressive, non-sectarian, independent school, Orchard commits to advancing each student’s academic success, self-confidence, open-mindedness, ethical character, leadership, and love of learning.

Orchard is on the cusp of its 100 year of Progressive education in Indianapolis with a focus on outdoor education, experiential hands-on learning, DEI, and social and emotional learning. A beautiful 43-acre wooded campus provides many outdoor learning spaces and a 27-element ropes course to incorporate nature into the curriculum.

Students are Digging Deeper in Orchard's Centennial Sunflower Garden

    academic spotlight

Leave it to Orchard to find math and science concepts blooming from a centennial sunflower garden planted by the outdoor education coordinator. First-grade scientists are using tally marks as they track and gather data around the garden art, others are using it for observational drawings, and Kindergarten students have been exploring the space during their Habitat Hunt Hikes.
