    From The Miquon School

Miquon offers a Progressive educational program that intentionally provides children with a balance of structure and flexibility. Structure is provided through clearly articulated goals, age-appropriate expectations, and close observation of individual needs. Flexibility is necessary for children to develop independence, self-motivation, and a passion for learning, and is provided by giving children the space to experiment, take a different path, make choices, and take risks.

We encourage you to read our Ten Tenets (see right) which define the particular Progressive philosophies that hold meaning and value for us, and guide us every day. In fact, we have found them to have special value in recent years as the world has changed, and we return to them frequently to reflect upon our professional practice, our goals for students, and our hopes for the future.
