    From The Independence School

Welcome to Independence! Please enjoy discovering the wonderful environment that Independence offers, where children are encouraged every day to be both the best student and the best citizen while Learning to Learn and Learning to Lead. Since 1978, we have inspired our students to be independent and intellectually curious individuals.

Academic excellence, creative experiences, and unlimited opportunities for growth and discovery describe this school's strengths. Academics are balanced with both a strong arts program as well as athletics. Children have a beautiful habit of rising to our highest expectations, and the sequential, spiraling, and engaging curriculum delivered in our supportive atmosphere leads to the success of each student.

Our eighth-grade graduates are highly sought after by area high schools, where they are recognized for being well-prepared. Alumni consistently report that they find themselves better prepared than their peers.

    academic spotlight

One of the most notable outcomes of an Independence education is the readiness our graduates possess for the next phase of their education and beyond. This preparedness can largely be attributed to our Learning Applications, or LeApps curriculum, a long-standing hallmark program unique to Independence. LeApps supports our mission of inspiring independent learners.
