    From The Crowden School

The Crowden School is unlike any other school in the country, a 3rd–8th grade day school with chamber music at the core. Every school day begins with music classes, followed by a rich array of academic subjects.

Beginning music students are welcomed in all grades!

Since 1983, our innovative academic and music curriculum has instilled in our students the creative, collaborative, and critical-thinking skills to succeed in life. The study of music alongside a challenging academic curriculum offers our students a unique educational experience with transformative results. In our small classes, you will find students who are actively engaged with learning, whether they are making music, discussing books, solving equations, or playing soccer.

At The Crowden School, music changes everything.

    Hands-on Science Labs

    academic spotlight

Fourth grade students discovered the basics of how their eyes work and they used their initial understanding to develop a working model of a human eye by using a magnifying lens as a model of the cornea to explore how the structure of this lens is related to the function of our eyes. This exercise also helps students to think of themselves as scientists.
