From St. Michael Lutheran School
During the last 39 years, the corner of Hannan and Glenwood in Wayne, MI has hosted a variety of Preschool to eighth grade students. This year we have 130 students in classrooms from Preschool to eighth grade. Every family comes searching for something different! Like the four main characters in the Wizard of Oz, we centered our purpose for existing around answering the four questions they are seeking to have answered. The Scarecrow is searching for a Brain! We provide a quality academic program that prepares student for the next step in their education. Two of our graduates are currently at the Air Force Academy and one of our alumni was just named a National Merit Finalist.
The Tin Man was searching for a Heart! We provide opportunities for service to the church, community and world. The Lion was searching for Courage! Our religion curriculum prepares students to courageously defend their faith. Dorothy was searching for Home! We daily remind students, heaven is our home.
Upcoming Events
Music Education
Every student in grades K-4 has a required weekly Music Class. In addition, our children's choirs sing monthly in church. Our three choirs are grades 6-8, 4-5 and PS -3. In addition our fifth graders are required to be in Beginning Band. Our 6-8 grade students have the opportunity to be in Varsity Band or Choir. Our Varsity Band and choir compete in local annual festivals.
