South Texas Independent School District Virtual Academy

South Texas ISD Virtual Academy is STISD's standalone virtual school, offering students in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas the opportunity to learn 100 percent from home.

This is not the same virtual learning you've experienced before. Instruction is designed specifically for online learners, and courses are taught by certified teachers who are experts in the delivery of virtual education. Although it's not a brick and mortar school, teachers teach from a central location, offering students a physical space to receive support in-person, if ever needed.

Students also have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities, including sports, through the district.

Virtual Academy currently serves students in grades 6-11, but will serve students in grades 6-12 starting in 2024-25.

There is no cost for students to attend, and students from all three counties served are eligible to enroll.
