South Douglas Elementary School aims to build a community of life-long learners that become responsible individuals, independent thinkers, and productive citizens. South Douglas is a high quality, five star school with a safe, clean, nurturing, stimulating, and disciplined atmosphere that is conducive to learning. With a school-wide climate of high expectations, all students are expected to be working at least on grade level and encouraged to go beyond. South Douglas values parents as a crucial part of the learning team. The staff and administration create a climate of accessibility for parents and students by demonstrating an approachable style. In addition to tremendous academic resources, South Douglas promotes excellence outside of the classroom through a wide variety of extra curricular and after school programs such as Math Club, Science Club, Flocabulary, and Jr. Beta Club.
