Founded in 1728, Norfolk Academy is an independent day school preparing students in grades 1-12 for scholarship and leadership. The student-led Honor System and the teacher-coach model shape trusted relationships. In our supportive community, children not only gain an outstanding education, but they develop their voice, strengthen their character, identify their passions, and stretch their limits. They learn that they have a role to play in creating a just society. Our array of unique programs includes Engineering, Design, and Innovation, which starts in first grade; our Speech Program; Global Programs; and the Batten Leadership Program which shapes students into compassionate leaders through experiential learning and service. The school cultivates artistic expression and appreciation, and we have more than 70 athletic teams. Norfolk Academy prepares confident, compassionate leaders—young people with the capacity and the desire to make the world better tomorrow than it is today.
