New Garden Friends School is the Triad’s only independent preschool through grade 12 school built upon the long-held standards of extraordinary Friends schools. NGFS was founded in 1971 with the goal of educating children from differing backgrounds together in a positive, affirming, and safe environment.

At New Garden Friends School, we are a community of learners. Our students experience critical thinking and experiential learning beyond the classroom. Developmentally appropriate curriculum is introduced at each level and accommodations are made to support and challenge students. We believe in teaching children the importance of service in their communities. Students are challenged to both see themselves as agents of change and to actively engage in the needs of the world around them. We learn together. We work together. We support one another.
