Greene Towne Montessori School educates children ages 18-months through 3rd grade and is the longest running and only accredited Montessori school in Philadelphia. Each environment in the school is carefully considered according to the Montessori philosophy. We offer school day and all day schedules to accommodate the diverse needs of families who live and work in the city, as well as tuition assistance and Summer Camp. We also offer Montessori & Me Playgroup classes for infants/toddlers with their grown-ups, and host a free Parent Education series.

Mission statement: Greene Towne Montessori School instills in young children an understanding of learning as a personal process, a sense of agency in building self and community, and the joy of possibility.

History: Greene Towne was founded by a small group of families dedicated to the Montessori method. Doors opened in the fall of 1966 with the goal to have a "racially, religiously, and economically integrated school."
