The school is excellent! They assist students tremendously and are excellent teachers. They ensure that we complete our work on time by following up with us when assignments aren't handed in and reminding us when they are. They help throughout class and get tutoring time when they stay after. They add interest and enjoyment to class time! Before we turn in any work, the teachers will make sure we understand it, and they are very understanding. Although they don't visit us much, the guidance counselor makes sure we have everything we need. They keep an eye on us to make sure we're passing and to make sure our final year of high school as seniors is amazing. For those unable to participate in the in-person curriculum, they offer extracurricular activities. They make sure we have the entire senior experience and offer college tours, and they're doing a fantastic job at it!
This school transformed my future. I switched from attending a traditional school to homeschooling with k12, and their teaching method gave me hope. While my grades had always been good, I felt like I wasn't very smart. I struggled with tests and never stood out as the type of student that schools favored. However, with k12, I found that I could retain information much better and even participate more than before. Now I’m heading to college in a few months! The one downside is that parents must help ensure that you stay active, participate in activities, and socialize. Hopefully, in the future, there will be in-person field trips for students in various locations.
This school can put your children on academic contract without notifying you that your children are failing or falling behind in completing their assignments. My child has ASD and gets overwhelmed often but always catches up before the end of the grading periods with close to honor roll or honor roll. This semester my child has been going through some depression due to her grandmother getting sick and we had to travel back and forth. Our lodging had no internet access. On March 10, I was told my mother was dying so I packed up my family for another road trip and 2 days later of our arrival, she passed. I had funeral planning and other things to do between March 10-March 21st. I reported the absences and let all teachers know what was going on due to the internet connections. Without the school calling me or emailing me, just withdrew my child from school during spring break with 8 weeks of school left and no other online school option to turn to.
