    From Chesterfield Montessori School

CMS has been educating global innovators since 1981 through hands-on, experiential, evidence-based learning for children from 16 months through sixth grade. We contribute to global peace by partnering with families from St. Louis and around the world to realize the unique potential of each child. We are the only area school recognized by Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and also accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States.

Our facility is on five acres in the suburb of Chesterfield, MO. Our campus includes tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, and a children’s garden. We also have a prairie restoration project populated by native plants, butterflies and birds, where children regularly take nature walks.

The classrooms are open, inviting, and fully equipped with the materials developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. Families share the richness of their cultures with our community. Our teachers have completed rigorous AMI training.

Students pursue interests in areas of geography, history, mathematics, geometry, biology and language. Exploration in these areas is encouraged through trips outside the classroom to community resources, such as the library, botanical garden, universities, and science center. Lessons in cultural subjects, such as visual, dramatic and musical arts, are an integral part of the elementary program.
