From Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences

Barnesville students are joyful learners who imagine, explore, grow, and achieve.

Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences offers an innovative preschool through 8th grade education that integrates the humanities, art, math, and science. Cross-curricular teaching encourages students to explore how subjects relate to one another, helping them make connections that spark inquiry and deepen understanding.

Barnesville’s mission of joy, support, and excellence frames a learning environment that is far from standard. Small classes enable skilled teachers to engage each child in an academically challenging environment. Our 30-acre campus in the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve is our extended classroom, and we integrate nature into everyday learning.

Barnesville is an independent, non-sectarian day school accredited through the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS) and certified as a Green School by the Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education.
