As a military service member and mom, my academic journey has been a unique and fulfilling adventure. Balancing the demands of military service, with its rigorous training schedules and deployments, alongside the responsibilities of motherhood, has presented me with numerous challenges. However, these challenges have also been powerful catalysts for personal and academic growth. My commitment to lifelong learning has been fueled by a desire to set a positive example for my children and to enhance my skills for both military and civilian life. Whether navigating online courses during deployments or attending night classes after a long day of duty, I have embraced the opportunities to expand my knowledge. This experience has not only strengthened my resilience but has also cultivated a deep appreciation for the importance of education in overcoming obstacles and achieving personal and professional goals.
My overall experience at the University of North Denton, has been marked by flexibility, adaptability, and the pursuit of knowledge from the comfort of your own space. The online learning environment has provided you with the convenience to juggle various responsibilities, accommodating your schedule as a student while managing other commitments. The university's online platform likely offers a diverse range of resources, such as virtual lectures, discussion forums, and interactive materials, fostering a dynamic and engaging learning experience. Despite the physical distance, you may have found opportunities to connect with professors and peers through virtual meetings, emails, or collaborative projects, contributing to a sense of community. Overcoming the challenges of self-discipline and time management, your experience at the University of North Denton reflects a commitment to academic excellence and a testament to the evolving landscape of higher education in the digital age.
I enjoyed all of my classes, classmates, and professors. My specialization was in Recreation and Leisure Studies with an emphasis on Program Management. I'm currently going back to school for a second Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University.
