Webb is a unique school, as it is very small. However, the family type connections that are created here are so worth it. I am so thankful for the opportunities I am offered.
I am a current senior and the Webb experience has been great. I have been well prepared for the maritime industry through internship opportunities and a challenging curriculum. The alumni network is strong and is an important part of maintaining the 100% job placement that the school provides. Some might be concerned by the small size, but you quickly get to know the close-knit community and form amazing friendships. The school has a self-imposed honor code which leads to trust among students in both academics and daily life. The student body is self-governed with plenty of leadership opportunities. During your Webb experience, you will be given the opportunity to attend conferences, participate in design competitions, complete valuable labs, and take field trips to supplement the lectures.
Webb may not be for everyone, but if you are interested in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and are willing to put in the work, then it is the best school for you.

I am a current Junior at Webb, and I can honestly say that while I loved the idea of Webb and free tuition, I questioned how I would feel about the mandatory double major. After two years, I can say that I am incredibly happy with my decision to come to Webb. The classes here are small and intimate and the other Webbies become like a family to you. The professors are just about always available for extra help and willing to put in the extra effort with students who are struggling as long as they put the same amount of effort in as well. While the sports teams tend to not win many games, they are a bonding experience for athlete and student spectators alike. Even with COVID, Webb put its best foot forward and tried to maintain normalcy for students during a virtual semester and once students were back on campus. While partying definitely occurs on weekends, there is no pressure to have alcohol while there and there is always something else to do if you don’t wish to partake.
