In theology and theological studies, one learns about the beliefs and doctrine of a particular religious faith from the intramural point of view of that faith. This includes instruction in systematic theology, historical theology, moral theology, doctrinal studies, dogmatics, apologetics, and applications to specific questions of ecclesiastical polity and religious life.

How popular is theological and ministerial studies as a major?

Each year, around 1,680 students obtain a bachelor’s degree and around 110 students obtain an associate degree in theological and ministerial studies. In 2021, 1,823 students received a bachelor's degree and 140 students received an associate degree. This is 6% more theological and ministerial studies majors than there were in 2020. Theological and ministerial studies is a relatively popular major compared to other religious studies majors.
