What is a pastoral counseling and specialized ministries major?

This program focuses on the theory and principles of pastoral care and prepares both ordained clergy and non-ordained individuals to provide non-clinical counseling to individuals and groups. It includes instruction in pastoral leadership, counseling psychology, crisis intervention, individual and group procedures, women's, youth and urban ministry, theological and spiritual counseling, and pastoral care.

Each year, around 680 students obtain a bachelor’s degree and around 100 students obtain an associate degree in pastoral counseling and specialized ministries.
