    Southern Connecticut State University is a public institution focused on liberal arts and professional training. SCSU is part of the Connecticut State University System and is located in New Haven, Connecticut. All students must complete a Liberal Education Program before graduation, which includes 42 elective credits outside of the chosen major program. At SCSU, psychology, nursing, and public health are among the most popular disciplines. Accelerated Pathway (4+1) Programs are offered to save time and money and our Exploratory Program allows you to take up to 60 credits before officially establishing an Academic Major of choice.
