In the degree, certificate, and short-term workshops at NYFA New York, students learn by doing, creating projects through our signature hands-on approach. As our New York campus is located at the tip of Manhattan in Battery Park, adjacent to the Financial District and nearby Wall Street, students are close to major subway lines, providing quick access to some of the most iconic neighborhoods in the Big Apple.

At NYFA New York, we currently offer programs in filmmaking, acting for film, producing, musical theatre, screenwriting, photography, cinematography, 3D animation and VFX, documentary filmmaking, game design, digital editing, broadcast journalism, entertainment media, as well as virtual reality. NYFA also offers a range of teen and kids summer camps. For students who wish to learn online or part-time, there are additional programs to choose from.

I highly recommend that nobody consider attending this school. The projects and assignments they assign will drain your wallet, in addition to the already exorbitant tuition fees. Some of the teachers here possess large egos and are disrespectful. In one of my classes, a professor referred to us as 'useless' simply because we forgot the project instructions. Another professor would play mind games if you were even a minute late to class, avoiding eye contact and mostly ignoring you during the session. The workload was overwhelming with the number of assignments and projects, leaving little time for completion. Some of these assignments and projects were significantly expensive to complete, requiring out-of-pocket payments. If you do decide to enroll, ensure that you have substantial financial resources and a high credit limit.

Completely unprofessional and disorganized management. Impossible to contact or reach, disinterested and clueless faculty. Course advertised as challenging and informative, but was really just superficial concepts and a complete waste of time. Cameras and other equipment about to break apart, and TAs are overbearing, rude, and not helpful. A joke to even call this an "academy."

You get access to equipment but the cost of the school is not worth the limited amount of time you spend actually using the equipment. The LA campus has a revolving door of instructor's. For one class the students had to file with the administration office to have a "teacher" removed because of his unprofessionalism. There is no career services department and the school doesn't help with job placement or any connections. Most of the students are in the states on visas, so they return back home afterwards, meaning there is not much of a community after you leave with a mountain of debt.
