Biology: Human Biology, B.S.
In addition to providing a basic understanding of biological concepts, the Human Biology specialization also allows students to focus their studies on the human body. This includes human anatomy and physiology, human reproduction and development, human nutrition and metabolism, human disease, and various areas of human systems biology such as neurology and endocrinology.

I first began as history education major, and it soon became clear that the ccsu education program is horrible. History education advisors inform you that you must take 5 years (full time) to complete the bachelors degree. But they only inform you of this when you’re a junior and expecting to be done, when most of the time your finances are becoming slim. But on the other hand, after switching into only history (no longer Ed), this program is amazing! Ccsu history faculty are genuinely caring and generous with their time with students. History BA is an amazing opportunity at ccsu and not something anyone would regret completing
I was an undergrad at Central as computer science major, got my BS in 2019. I had a great experience, both academically and socially. I had an internship right after graduation, but pandemic hit and did not get full-time. I got another job elsewhere as web programmer, working remote. I wanted to get a grad degree, so I enrolled in fall of 2021 in the Data Science master's program. I just graduated in May of 2023, and finished all my credits in July. I am writing this review because I just got a job in Boston, and wanted to show a success story and share my experiences at Central. I am grateful to Central, as I had amazing experiences, got my BS in computer science and MS in data science. The best value for my education. I felt like I owed it to Central to write this review. I was not the best student in high school or freshmen year at Central, but I got serious, worked hard and got my degrees. It has paid off, and I owe much less than my friends. Great value, totally worth it!
I’ve been a student since 2019.. finished my BS in STEM and now going for an MS in Data Science. While at times it may seem like the professors are disconnected, there is nothing they’d rather do than see you succeed. Go and talk to your professors there. I still find myself going back and getting side tracked talking to my metabolism professor for 45 minutes at a time. Administration is meh, as they screwed up my transcript after the department chair had emailed them and said I met requirements and could sub classes. Administration also tried to tell me one of my transfer credits from a VERY prestigious college was no good (some gen ed that I was told would meet a writing requirement), but thanks to other professors in different departments we got around that. CCSU is by far one of the best “bang for your buck” institutions out there. Proud to be a blue devil, and would highly recommend you check the school out and talk to someone there before writing it off. Cheers mates!
